BEFORE YOU FLY

Before departure

01 / Passport & visa

Check entry requirements for your nationality, purpose and length of stay with the Korea Visa Portal and your airline. Save your accommodation address and return/onward booking. This guide does not decide individual eligibility.

Official guidance ↗

02 / K-ETA: check your eligibility

The temporary K-ETA exemption for currently eligible countries/regions runs through 31 December 2026 (KST). It is not universal. Check nationality, age and purpose rules on the official website for your arrival date; a visa and K-ETA are different requirements.

Official guidance ↗

03 / e-Arrival Card: separate & free

Use the official navigator to check whether you need an arrival declaration. Valid K-ETA holders are among the exemptions; temporary K-ETA exemption does not automatically exempt you from the arrival card. Where required, submit free on the official site from 3 days before arrival, using KST dates.

READY TO CONNECT

Connectivity & payment

eSIM, SIM or pocket Wi-Fi?

Before buying, check that your phone is unlocked and supports the product. Compare activation start, validity, data, calls/SMS and pickup or return rules. Data-only plans may not provide the calls you need for bookings.

A connection before you leave the airport

Incheon Airport provides free Wi-Fi. Save your hotel address in Korean, a map and booking confirmations offline. If collecting a SIM or router, check your actual terminal and the counter hours before arrival.

Official guidance ↗

Card plus a cash backup

Cards are widely accepted, but not everywhere. Check overseas use and issuer fees; keep a small cash backup for your planned purchases. Exchange through banks or authorised providers and compare the displayed rate and fees. Do not assume every transport card can be topped up with an overseas card.

LAND / CONNECT / SETTLE IN

Your first-day route

01 / Connect & save your destination

After immigration and baggage collection, confirm your connection and save the hotel's Korean address, telephone number and booking reference. Use the terminal signs and current airport guidance.

Open the guide →

02 / Choose the transfer that fits

Compare rail, coach and official taxi options for your terminal, luggage and destination. Check the last departure for your date. Allow for immigration queues; a flight's landing time is not the time you reach the platform.

03 / Luggage, check-in & rest

Confirm baggage storage and check-in directly with your accommodation. Early storage is not guaranteed. If arriving late, agree on reception or self-check-in instructions before travelling.

04 / One easy meal, one nearby walk

Choose a simple meal near your stay and confirm opening hours and dietary needs. A short neighbourhood walk is enough for the first evening. Keep a weather or tiredness fallback rather than a packed sightseeing schedule.

YOUR PACE, YOUR PLAN

Checklists & help

Solo travellers

Save an offline route and host contact. Check one-person meal orders and the route home after dinner. Keep a charged phone and a separate copy of essential booking details.

Families with children

Check each traveller's documents, child ticket rules, bed arrangements and stroller access. Plan a toilet and meal stop. Ask the transport provider about child seats when booking a vehicle.

Travelling with parents

Compare the full walking route, lifts and luggage handling, not just the distance on a map. Confirm raised beds if floor bedding is difficult. Keep the first evening flexible and carry any needed medication in accordance with entry rules.

My travel checklist — tick as you prepare

Ticks last until you leave or reload this page; no personal information is sent.

What if my flight arrives late?

Recheck the remaining services for your actual arrival time and contact your accommodation. If the last public service has gone, compare an official taxi or a separately confirmed overnight stay. Do not rely on a fixed last-train time in an old guide.

Lost something? Start with the location

Airport common areas: airport lost property. On the aircraft or baggage issue: your airline. On a train or bus: the operator. Note the time, route and item description; use the airport's official directory for the right terminal desk.
