Follow the south coast through island walks, a harbour skyline and seafood markets. Yeosu is especially rewarding with an overnight stay, giving you time for Odongdo and a relaxed evening beside the sea.

Yeosu stretches across a peninsula and neighbouring islands on Korea’s southern coast. Yeosu-Expo Station, the old harbour, Odongdo and Dolsan are different sightseeing bases. Island excursions beyond the city need their own transport plan.
Walk across the connecting breakwater to wooded paths and coastal views. Camellia flowers are seasonal; the island is also worth visiting for the landscape. Allow for slopes and steps on the trails.
Plan your visit: The island is reached from the mainland causeway, then explored on its paths. A shoreline walk and a full circuit through wooded slopes involve different distances. Allow time for the approach and return, and check local notices in strong wind or heavy rain.
Dolsan Bridge & the harbour
Find a waterfront viewpoint for the bridge and port scenery. Plan an evening meal nearby and check the return journey to your hotel.
Plan your visit: Choose a public viewpoint or waterfront path rather than stopping on a busy road for a photograph. The harbour changes between daylight and evening illumination. Plan the return transport from the specific side of the water where you finish.
Yeosu Maritime Cable Car
The cable car crosses the water between the mainland and Dolsan. Compare cabin types, boarding points and the last departure with the operator. Wind and weather can affect operation.
Plan your visit: Check the boarding station, operating notices and ticket type before travelling. Weather or maintenance can suspend services. A return ride and a one-way journey lead to different onward plans, so decide where you want to finish before buying.
Yi Sunsin Square
Use the square as a starting point for the old waterfront, local food and nearby lanes. It commemorates naval commander Yi Sun-sin.
Plan your visit: Use the square as a starting point for the old harbour and nearby food streets. It pairs well with a relaxed meal and a short evening walk. Leave enough time for the journey back to Yeosu-Expo Station if departing the same night.
Goso-dong Mural Village
The hillside lanes add art and views to an old-harbour day. Choose a comfortable route and take breaks on the climb. People live here, so keep voices low and avoid blocking doors while taking photographs.
Suncheon is another city, not part of Yeosu's waterfront. If you have an extra day, plan travel to Suncheon and a further connection to the wetland. Keep the garden and wetland entrances distinct, and check the return journey before arranging a sunset visit.
Search Korail from Yongsan to Yeosu-Expo and select a service for your travel date. After arrival, continue by local bus or taxi to the harbour, accommodation or Odongdo.
Search Central City Terminal in Seoul for Yeosu. Compare the arrival bus terminal with your accommodation; it is not the same place as Yeosu-Expo Station.
Allow a local connection between the Expo area, old harbour and Dolsan. Save the exact cable-car boarding point if using a taxi. Confirm any island ferry separately.
Making the local connections
Use Yeosu-Expo as the arrival station for the main visitor area when it matches your train booking. Odongdo, the old harbour and Dolsan still need local connections. Dolsan is a large area, so confirm an accommodation's exact address and evening transport before booking.

Choose the harbour for food and evening walks, or a Dolsan property for a quieter coastal base. A sea-view room does not necessarily mean easy pedestrian access to the waterfront.

Before you book
An old-harbour base helps with food and evening walks; the Expo area can simplify station access. A Dolsan sea-view stay may be quieter but require a car or taxi. Check the room's actual outlook and how you will reach dinner.
Arrive at Yeosu-Expo, drop your bags if your accommodation allows and visit Odongdo. Continue to the old harbour and Yi Sunsin Square for dinner.
Day 2 · A different view of the sea
Choose the cable car or a relaxed Dolsan viewpoint, depending on weather and mobility. Leave time to return to the station or bus terminal.
Before you go
Travel information reviewed on 9 September 2026 (Korea Standard Time). Check current opening hours, transport, weather and admission before travelling. The suggested itinerary is an editorial route idea, not a booked tour.
Coastal paths, boats and cable cars have different operating conditions. Check each activity directly rather than assuming one ticket or timetable covers the whole area.
Harbour evenings and island paths can feel windy. Spring flowers or a sunset depend on the day's conditions. Check marine-weather notices before choosing a boat, exposed coastal path or cable-car plan.
Choose a comfortable route
The old harbour, Odongdo's wooded paths and Goso-dong's hillside lanes involve different walking demands. Ask about the precise path or boarding access before travelling. Choose a short waterside route if stairs or long walks are difficult.
Keep a market meal or indoor stop near your base as a flexible alternative. Avoid crossing to a distant viewpoint solely for a photograph in poor conditions. Check cable-car notices before leaving your hotel.
Culture & events
Explore Yeosu through its maritime history and waterfront neighbourhoods. For events during your visit, check published organiser details before booking accommodation.
