This is an independent planning resource, not a government tourism office or a transport operator. A suggested itinerary is not a guided tour or booking. Confirm current timetables, opening hours, closures, prices and reservation conditions with the linked operator before travelling. Journey estimates vary with traffic, weather and your pace.
Who prepares these guides
Korea, Beyond Seoul is an independent editorial travel guide. Articles attributed to the Korea, Beyond Seoul editorial desk combine published operator information with our own planning explanations. This attribution does not claim a professional tour-guide qualification or a personal visit to every location.
How we check a guide
- Identify the visitor’s decision: the correct entrance, usable transport, booking channel or next action after a failure.
- Consult the operator or public authority for service rules and identify the facts that depend on travel date.
- Separate published facts from editorial route choices, estimates and assumptions.
- Check maps, related links and the English, Japanese and Simplified Chinese editions where provided.
- Record the review scope and date. A desk review is not a field test or completed transaction.
Experience and evidence
A first-hand observation is labelled with its location, date and contributor only when that information is available. Archive or licensed photographs illustrate a place; they do not prove that we visited it or that a business is open today. Illustrated videos explain a task and are not recordings of real payment or booking screens.
Sources and corrections
Official tourism, transport, park and venue links are included where available. Check the date and scope of any verification note: it does not mean every detail on the site has been checked on that date. If a fact is missing or conflicts with an operator’s current notice, use the operator’s information and let us know through the correction link below.
What we focus on
Our main focus is practical independent travel: regional itineraries, transport, local food and help with problems during a visit. K-Pop, K-Beauty, K-Food, K-Hiking, K-Shopping and Taste of Korean connect practical cultural interests with travel guides. Drama pages focus on filming-location journeys; release announcements without a travel route have been removed. Cooking lessons remain a secondary food resource. The home page presents six regional starting points in editorial priority order, not a popularity or visitor-count ranking.
Corrections and updates
Send the page URL, the fact that needs correcting, the date you observed it and a supporting operator link where possible. Please distinguish a price change, closed entrance, translation error or failed link so we can check the right item. Do not send card numbers, passwords or identity documents.
30 September 2026: added eight detailed Travel Help decision guides, expanded the car-free planning sections for Gyeongju and Suncheon, and clarified the difference between desk research and field experience. This update is not a claim that all pages were rechecked.
30 September 2026: standardised the practical trip plans for Gyeongju, Suncheon, Busan, Jeonju, Gangneung and Jeju, with entrance connections, realistic day choices, spending allowances, fallback plans and scoped source notes. Estimates are labelled separately from operator facts.
