Choose an autumn riverside garden visit in Yugu. KTO lists free admission and 24-hour access, but daylight is the practical time for photographs and walking. Pink muhly colour varies with weather; the adjacent hydrangea garden has a different, summer flowering season. Do not enter planting beds.
Transport
Plan the final transfer to Yugu separately from arrival in Gongju city. Check a current bus or arrange a taxi and return pickup; Gongju’s railway and city tourist sites are not a walkable extension of this garden.
Stay
Choose a confirmed Yugu-area stay for a quiet local visit, or a Gongju city hotel when continuing to the royal tombs. Compare the actual road route before combining the two areas.
Local food
Yugu Traditional Market is the appropriate local meal stop. Look for an open rice or noodle restaurant and ask prices and portion sizes. Existing Gongju city restaurant guides require a separate transfer and are not garden-side venues.
Personal essentials
Walking shoes, drinking water, a charged phone and a light warm layer. Save the return transport, entrance pin and reservation details before leaving town. Stay on marked paths and take your rubbish back.
A workable visit plan
Yugu entrance → designated garden paths → local market meal → optional textile/mural streets if open → return.
