Routes from Seoul
Hover over an amber region pin to see its name; click or tap to select it. Compare car, KTX and flight options. KTX lines connect major stations in order; numbered pins show stations and selected rest areas. Lines between pins are simplified, not surveyed track or road geometry. Train stops vary by service. Know the area
Start with one town or sightseeing cluster. Distances between attractions can be substantial; use the map and individual guides to choose a manageable route.
Top sights
Gyeongju
Two days of royal tombs, hanok lanes, local snacks and reflected night lights. Start at the current Gyeongju railway station; visit Seokguram as a separate mountain excursion.
Andong
Discover a different rhythm of Korea in Andong: traditional homes, Confucian heritage and a riverside evening. Make Hahoe Village the centre of your visit, then add local food and a hanok stay for a slower cultural trip.
Tongyeong
Explore a southern harbour city of hillside lanes, islands and seafood. Tongyeong brings together Dongpirang’s murals, Gangguan’s waterfront and wide views of the island-dotted sea. Spend a night to enjoy the city at an easy pace.
Namgyeseowon · Courtyards, ponds and autumn fields
Read the landscape of a UNESCO-listed Confucian academy, then continue to Gaepyeong’s hanok lanes.
Geochang Gamaksan · Byeolbaram Hill
Purple aster fields and wind turbines on a mountain plateau. Plan the festival shuttle, a local meal and an overnight base before travelling from Seoul.
Geoyeonjeong · Hwarimdong Valley
A traditional pavilion sits above granite rocks and flowing water in Hwarimdong Valley. Enjoy the riverside composition without trying to walk the entire pavilion trail on a short visit.
Bongcheonsa · Purple Asters
Purple asters beside a working temple on the Wolbangsan slope. Choose a temple-and-flower visit rather than a mountain ascent, and check current flowers before making the rural transfer.
Toegang-ri · Nakdong Riverside
Start from the Nakdonggang 700-ri marker and choose a short open riverside walk. Reeds and cosmos are seasonal interests, with current planting and bloom still requiring local confirmation.
Yongyeonsa · Dalseong
Temple halls and the historic Geumgang ordination platform on the Biseulsan side of Dalseong. This is a temple visit, not the Biseulsan summit route.
Daegaya Arboretum
Garden paths and a separate evening Forest of Light programme. Add Gaya history in Goryeong instead of treating the arboretum as a mountain hike.
Uiryeong Patriotic Forest
Flower fields beside the Namgang and a place linked to the righteous-army story. It is outside Uiryeong town.
Hadong Songnim Pine Park
Pine shade beside the Seomjingang for a gentler town-area walk and a separate jaecheop clam-soup meal.
Cafe Windy Hill · Geoje
A private sea-view café and garden stop in southern Geoje. It is not the same entrance as the public Windy Hill windmill viewpoint.
Munhui Farm · Autumn Asters
This is the aster garden in Gaeun-eup, distinct from Bongcheonsa in Hogye-myeon.
Andong Hahoe Village
Hahoe and Yangdong were jointly inscribed by UNESCO in 2010 as historic clan villages.
Sayuwon
Plan an unhurried landscape and garden visit in Gunwi. This is a place to choose deliberately and organise before arrival.
Seomun Market & Dongseongno
Combine market browsing with a central shopping-street walk in Daegu. The two areas offer different food and shopping stops.
Palgongsan National Park
Choose a temple-area outing or a prepared mountain walk around Palgongsan. The park has several approaches, so select a trailhead first.
Daewangam Park
Take a coastal walk through Ulsan’s Daewangam area. Give the shore views and wooded approach time of their own.
Yeongnam Alps & Ganwoljae
Plan a mountain walking day in the Yeongnam Alps around a route to Ganwoljae. Treat the approach as part of the hike.
Taehwagang National Garden
Add a riverside garden walk to an Ulsan stay. Short loops and rest stops can make it an easier day between longer journeys.
Gyeongju Tombs, Wolji Pond & Hwangnidan Street
Build a Gyeongju stay around royal tombs, historic landmarks and evening scenery. This selection covers several separate places in the city.
Bulguksa Temple & Seokguram Grotto
Plan Bulguksa with seasonal admission cutoffs, a 90–120 minute temple route, accessible approach information, food and return transport. Add Seokguram as a separate uphill visit.
Baekdudaegan National Arboretum
Plan a spacious garden and collection visit in Bonghwa. Give the rural journey and the walking grounds plenty of time.
Andong Hahoe Village
Explore a traditional village landscape beside the river. A respectful, slow walk lets you appreciate the setting without intruding on homes.
Ulleungdo & Dokdo
Plan an island journey with room for changing sea conditions. Ulleungdo and any onward Dokdo excursion require separate travel arrangements.
Juwangsan National Park & Jusanji Reservoir
Combine a planned valley walk with a separate reservoir visit in Cheongsong. The two areas need their own entrance directions.
Space Walk
Make a viewpoint and sculptural-walk stop in Pohang. Decide whether the structure’s height and stairs suit your group.
Geoje Botanic Garden
Choose a garden-focused stop on Geoje, especially when you want a change from coastal walking.
Namhae German Village
Visit a hillside village with a distinctive architectural identity on Namhae. Pair the walk with time to understand its migration history.
Sacheon Ocean Cable Car & Aramaru Aquarium
Plan a coastal attraction day around a cable-car ride and a separately operated aquarium.
Donguibogam Village
Explore a visitor complex focused on traditional Korean medicine and wellness culture in Sancheong.
Tongdosa Temple
Plan a temple visit in Yangsan with time for its wooded approach and a quiet walk through public areas.
Jinjuseong Fortress
Explore fortress grounds beside the river in Jinju. It works well as the main stop on a short city visit.
Upo Wetland
Spend time observing a wetland landscape in Changnyeong. Quiet walking and patient pauses suit this visit.
DPIRANG
Add an evening light attraction to a Tongyeong stay. Build the day so you are already nearby before the night-time visit.
Ssanggyesa Temple & Hwagae Market
Combine a temple-area walk with a separate market stop in Hadong. The countryside journey deserves time of its own.
