Destination

Start from a named entrance such as the music-fountain plaza, then follow the posted open path and choose a turnaround point. A 2025 municipal walking event used a 4.1 km return route via the suspension bridge: this is one published event route, not the length of the whole lake circuit. The bridge itself is 600 m. Allow 1½–2 hours for your chosen short walk as an editorial estimate. Bridge access, wind closures and fountain shows must be checked separately. Bring walking shoes with grip, water, a windproof layer and a charged phone; save the return pickup point before setting off.

Transport

Use KORAIL or an intercity coach to Nonsan, then arrange the separate local bus or taxi to the chosen lake entrance. The station, lakeside deck and bridge entrances are different places. Check the last bus and a return taxi pickup; do not wait until a fountain show ends to discover there is no connection. Save the Korean entrance pin for the driver.

Stay

Nonsan station/city accommodation is simpler for a train arrival and an early return. A lake-area pension suits a car-based overnight; confirm its exact entrance, heating, bed type, meals and cancellation terms. A lake-view room does not guarantee a walkable connection to the bridge.

Local food

Freshwater-fish spicy stew is a lakeside option, but ask whether it is sold by shared pot and whether two portions are required. Confirm total price and fish/shrimp allergens before ordering. For solo visitors or a tight train connection, a cooked rice-and-soup meal in Nonsan city is often simpler. Choose a restaurant on your actual return route; do not assume one is inside the bridge ticket area.

Personal essentials

Grip-soled walking shoes, water, a windproof layer, a charged phone and saved return pickup details. In cooler weather add a warm layer; slippery leaves and lakeside wind can change the comfort of a short walk.

Banya-sa · Nonsan cave temple · Separate road transfer; inner cave access restricted.

A workable visit plan

Nonsan station → chosen lake entrance → open Sopung-gil section and optional permitted bridge → meal → return station. Keep a fountain show as an optional extra after checking the current timetable, weather and return connection. Photos show the real lake: one November 2024 cosmos view and one spring deck reference, not a live report or a verified exact Sopung-gil segment.

Suggested visit times are our planning allowances, not measured transfer times. Reserve the return connection first; current room prices, menus and local departures need a check for your travel date.
