YOUR FIRST DAY, MADE EASIER

Arrive with a plan.

Airport to accommodation. A card for the journey. A connection for your phone. Four practical guides to starting your trip.

Official information checked:

01 / ARRIVAL

From Incheon Airport
to your accommodation.

Choose the route for your address and luggage, then confirm your terminal.

A simple arrival sequence
  1. 01Arrivals hall
  2. 02Rail, bus or taxi
  3. 03Your accommodation
  1. Save your destination

Keep your accommodation name, address in Korean and check-in instructions available offline.

  2. Compare the journey

AREX Express connects Incheon Airport and Seoul Station without intermediate stops. The all-stop train serves additional stations, including Gimpo Airport. An airport bus or taxi may suit a different address.

  3. Follow the terminal signs

Airport Railroad facilities are in the transport centres on basement level 1 at both terminals. Check the correct service, ticket and final departure before travelling.

02 / GETTING AROUND

A transport card
for everyday journeys.

Start with the card. Add travel balance. Learn where to tap.

Keep the card and travel balance separate in your budget
  1. 01Buy a card
  2. 02Add balance
  3. 03Tap for your journey
  1. Buy and load

T-money and EZL are prepaid transport cards available through participating convenience stores. Ask the retailer to add travel balance and confirm the accepted payment method for loading.

  2. Use the correct ticket

A local transport card and a reserved intercity train or coach ticket serve different journeys. Open our ticket guide before booking a long-distance trip.

  3. Check your fare category

If travelling with children, ask how to register an eligible child or youth fare. Senior benefits vary by service and eligibility; check the regional guide before expecting a discount.

Your connection checklist
  1. 01Check your phone
  2. 02Choose a plan
  3. 03Activate & test
  1. Check compatibility

Ask your home carrier whether your phone is unlocked. For an eSIM, check the provider’s supported models for your exact phone and region of purchase.

  2. Choose what you need

Compare the number of days, data allowance and whether Korean calls or texts are included. Read the provider’s identification and activation instructions before paying.

  3. Get ready to activate

Save the order confirmation and installation instructions. Follow the provider’s guidance on when to activate, and test maps and messaging while help or Wi-Fi is available.

Have a second way to pay when you need it.

Before you pay
  1. 01Check acceptance
  2. 02Confirm the amount
  3. 03Keep your receipt
  1. Confirm card acceptance

International credit cards are widely used in Korea, but acceptance varies by business. Ask before ordering or making a purchase.

  2. Prepare a backup

Plan to carry a modest amount of Korean won for places where your preferred payment method is unavailable. Check your own bank’s overseas payment and withdrawal conditions.

  3. Use the converter to plan

Our currency tool can help estimate a budget. The rate and charges at your bank, ATM or exchange counter may differ; check the amount before confirming a transaction.
