Destination

Start with the main temple court and cliff view. Follow the indicated steps behind the main hall only as far as the area open on your visit date. Nonsan’s tourism foundation explicitly prohibits access into the inner cave because of falling rocks: this is not a cave-exploration route. Keep the worship area quiet, ask before photographing ceremonies and obey any new barriers. Published opening windows differ between sources, so confirm the day’s access instead of relying on an old closing time. KTO lists free admission and nearby parking; check current arrangements and whether the approach suits your mobility.

Transport

Arrive at Nonsan by rail or coach, then arrange a separate road transfer to Samjeon-gil 104. The temple is not beside Nonsan Station or the Tapjeongho bridge entrance. Save the exact Korean name and pin, and prearrange a taxi pickup if a rural return bus cannot be confirmed. Allow time for both local transfers before choosing your return train.

Stay

Choose a Nonsan town hotel for rail/coach access and meals, or compare an actual Tapjeongho-area stay for a car trip. Check the exact road, heating, late check-in and cancellation terms. A visit to this temple does not establish an available templestay programme or permission to stay overnight.

Local food

Use the Nonsan municipal food listings to choose a confirmed lunch in town or on your lake route. Ask the kitchen last order, price and minimum diners. Do not assume meals are sold at the temple or that a café is a full restaurant. Gongju and Daejeon restaurants are separate intercity stops, not nearby temple meals.

Personal essentials

Grip-soled walking shoes, a warm layer for the cave entrance, water and a charged phone with the return pickup saved. Bring a small bag and dress for a worship space. Do not enter a closed tunnel for a photograph; ordinary equipment does not make falling-rock areas safe.

A workable visit plan

Nonsan arrival → temple court and permitted cave-hall approach → confirmed lunch → Tapjeongho only with a separately arranged road transfer and enough daylight → return. Choose one more stop, not a rushed circuit of every Nonsan attraction.

Suggested visit times are our planning allowances, not measured transfer times. Reserve the return connection first; current room prices, menus and local departures need a check for your travel date.
