DANYANG · AUTUMN ROAD TRIP
Follow the bends between Bobal-ri and Baekja-ri, with autumn colour outside the windows. The pass is about 3 km long; 540 m is its elevation, not the distance.

Suggested direction: Danyang town → Bobal-ri → Bobaljae Pass → Baekja-ri → Guinsa or Yeongchun. Set the pass as a waypoint before leaving so navigation does not bypass it. Stay in your lane and continue with traffic; no roadside photo stops or turning around on bends. Passengers can enjoy the changing roadside colour; the driver keeps eyes on the road. Allow extra time for foliage-season queues. A no-parking itinerary cannot guarantee uninterrupted traffic.
Plan an autumn visit, then check recent local conditions close to departure: temperature, rain and wind change the colour window. These October 2023 photographs are archive references, not a 2026 peak forecast. Aerial images show the whole S-curve; that overhead view is not what you see from a moving car. To photograph the road from above, choose a separate observatory visit with lawful parking.

Numbers 1–3 show the driving order, not attraction rankings or three required parking stops. Each set of NAVER, Kakao and Google buttons opens the same waypoint in a different map service.

Bobal-ri is the approach on this suggested route from Danyang town. From here, follow the road toward Bobaljae.
Pass-through reference point
The Bobaljae Observatory pin identifies the pass. This no-parking itinerary continues through rather than stopping here. A viewpoint visit requires a separate plan with lawful parking.
Continue toward the next stop
Baekja-ri is the far side of the pass on this route. Continue toward Guinsa or Yeongchun according to your next destination.
For this moving-view itinerary, use a car or pre-arranged taxi. Agree the pass-through route, onward destination and return price with the taxi operator. Compare rail to Danyang through KORAIL or coaches through Tmoney, then arrange the local transfer separately. Check departures for your travel date; do not assume a bus makes a convenient scenic loop.
After the pass, Guinsa is a natural temple add-on, with uphill walking and stairs. Ondal Tourist Area is another option if admission hours suit your day. For an overnight trip, keep Danyanggang Jando and Gugyeong Market in a separate town-side block. A walk is an optional later stop with its own parking or drop-off, not a walk along the hairpin carriageway.
Stay in Danyang town for market dining and onward transport, or compare Yeongchun pensions for the northern route. Check the actual location, parking, cancellation terms and late arrival arrangements before paying. Guinsa Templestay is a scheduled temple programme, not a standard hotel stay; confirm language and dates. Booking links lead to providers and do not promise availability.
