Know the area
Haeundae is in eastern Busan. Dongbaekseom is at the western end of the beach; Mipo is at the eastern end. Start at one end and walk across once. Cheongsapo and Songjeong are farther along the coast, so allow a separate train or road journey.
Top sights
Haeundae Beach
Enjoy the promenade and a beach café. Beach admission is free; rentals and attractions cost extra. Swimming is permitted only when the beach is officially open and within supervised areas.
Dongbaekseom & Nurimaru
Walk the wooded coastal paths at the west end of the beach. Allow about 60–90 minutes as a planning estimate. Some boardwalk sections have steps; choose the paved route if stairs are difficult. Nurimaru interior access follows its own opening schedule.
Mipo: choose your coastal ride
The Beach Train links Mipo, Cheongsapo and Songjeong. The elevated Sky Capsule runs between Mipo and Cheongsapo. These are different tickets: check the departure station, direction, date and boarding slot before paying. Leave a buffer before a return connection.
Haeundae Traditional Market
Use the market streets for a casual meal or snack between the station and beach. Read the price and portion size before ordering. For seafood, ask whether the displayed price is per person, per plate or by weight.

Travel from Seoul
From Seoul or Busan Station
Take a KTX to Busan Station. Continue on Metro Line 1 towards Nopo, change at Seomyeon to Line 2 towards Jangsan and get off at Haeundae. Exits 3 or 5 lead towards the beach. The KTX does not arrive at Haeundae Beach.
From Gimhae Airport
Take the Busan–Gimhae Light Rail to Sasang, then Metro Line 2 towards Jangsan to Haeundae. With heavy luggage, compare a taxi using the exact hotel address. Traffic can make road transfers slower than expected.
Taxi or rental car
Save your destination in Korean: 해운대해수욕장 or 해운대블루라인파크 미포정거장. Check parking fees before entering. For a rental, confirm the return branch, opening hours, fuel policy and any one-way fee; do not assume airport and city returns are interchangeable.

Local food
Dwaeji-gukbap: pork soup with rice
A practical solo meal: order one bowl and add chilli paste gradually. Pork broth is not suitable for a vegetarian or halal diet unless the restaurant specifically confirms an appropriate alternative.
Milmyeon: cold wheat noodles
Choose chilled broth or the spicy mixed version. Ask for the sauce separately if you prefer mild food. The noodles contain wheat and the broth may contain meat.
Seafood or market snacks
Share a seafood dish or choose fish cakes and hotteok for a smaller stop. Ask about minimum portions, shellfish, fish stock and nut fillings. Market snacks are not automatically vegetarian.
Where to stay
Choose your base
Stay near Haeundae Station for metro access and restaurants, near the beachfront for morning walks, or towards Mipo for an early coastal ride. Check the actual walking route, lift access and whether an ocean-view room faces the sea directly.
Suggested itinerary
One relaxed day: west to east
09:30 Dongbaekseom walk → 11:00 Haeundae promenade → 12:00 market lunch → 14:00 Mipo coastal ride if reserved → 16:00 café and return → evening beach stroll. This is a suggested schedule, not a transport timetable. Skip the train for a shorter half-day; do not squeeze Songjeong and a rushed KTX departure into the same afternoon.
Before you go
Weather, toilets and a practical backup
Check coastal wind and rain before leaving. In rough weather, replace the exposed coastal walk with an indoor attraction or a café; check the operator before using any reserved ride. Beach facilities include public toilets and tourist information. Shower and changing-room availability is seasonal. Keep rubbish until you find a designated bin and allow extra time for weekend crowds.

Culture & events
Come for a sea walk in spring or autumn, a managed beach visit in summer, or a brisk promenade walk in winter. Festival dates, swimming dates and evening programmes change each year; check official notices before planning around an event.
