SAMPLE COMPLETE ROUTE · 7 DAYS / 6 NIGHTS

Seoul → Gyeongju → Busan

Three nights in Seoul, one in Gyeongju and two in Busan. A practical first-trip framework for arrival in Seoul and departure from Busan.

Before using this plan: Times are example planning windows in Korea Standard Time, not train bookings, live journey times or guaranteed opening hours. Book long-distance transport first, then adjust every day to the tickets you actually hold.

DAY 01 · SEOUL

Arrive and settle in

Base: Seoul: Jongno or Myeongdong

Assumes arrival at your Seoul accommodation by late afternoon. If you land later, keep only check-in and dinner.

  1. Airport transfer and hotel check-in

Save your hotel name and address in Korean. Use the actual flight landing time and luggage collection to choose AREX, airport bus or taxi.

    Read the local guide ↗
  2. A short walk near your hotel

Cheonggyecheon if your base is central; otherwise stay in your own neighbourhood.

  3. Dinner and rest

Do not commit to a timed attraction on arrival day.

  1. Incheon AirportAREX station
  2. Seoul StationMetro or taxi connection
  3. Seoul hotelCheck in and rest
Getting there
From Incheon Airport Terminal 1 or 2, follow signs for Airport Railroad. Choose the AREX express if going directly to Seoul Station; the all-stop train is useful for intermediate connections. From Seoul Station, check a live metro route or take a licensed taxi to your hotel. Airport bus or taxi can be simpler with heavy luggage.
What to eat
For an easy first dinner near your hotel, try seolleongtang (mild ox-bone soup) or bibimbap. Choose a nearby open restaurant rather than crossing the city after a flight.
Where to pause
Use the airport or Seoul Station facilities before your hotel transfer. Keep the evening walk optional.

How to change Day 1 for the weather

Rain: Skip the optional Cheonggyecheon walk. Check in, eat near the hotel and rest after the flight.

Heat or cold: In heat or cold, move the short walk to a more comfortable hour or skip it; keep water and an extra layer handy.

Weather warning: Check airport rail or bus notices and go straight to your accommodation if severe weather affects the transfer.

Check the official forecast ↗ and the attraction’s hours before changing your booking.

If plans change: Flight delayed? Go straight to the hotel; the remaining days do not rely on this walk.

Where to pause
Rest with water after the temple walk and again at Gyeongju Station before boarding. Do not insert another sightseeing stop between the temple and train.

What to eat
At Nampo or Jagalchi, compare seafood set meals or grilled fish with posted prices. Milmyeon (cold wheat noodles) is another Busan choice; order near your route instead of making a separate cross-city journey.
Where to pause
Use a café in Gamcheon or near Nampo for a seated break; village lanes are steep and residential. Keep a shorter route if the weather is hot or wet.

Heat or cold: Move Gamcheon to a cooler morning, shorten the hillside walk and rest indoors around Nampo.

Weather warning: Avoid steep lanes, coastal exposure and unsafe travel. Keep the day near your Busan accommodation if a warning is in force.

  1. Busan baseMetro Line 2 if time
  2. HaeundaeShort coast visit
  3. Airport or stationRetrieve bags; allow buffer
Getting there
Only with a late departure: reach Haeundae on Busan Metro Line 2, then collect your luggage. To return to Busan Station, ride Line 2 to Seomyeon and change to Line 1; if flying from Gimhae, connect on Line 2 to Sasang and transfer to the airport light rail. Check the full door-to-door time and airport check-in deadline before leaving your hotel.
What to eat
Have breakfast close to your hotel; if time allows, eat milmyeon or a simple rice meal near Haeundae. Avoid a long restaurant queue on departure day.
Where to pause
Leave a generous buffer for bag collection, line changes and airport or station check-in. Skip the coast entirely if your booked departure is early.

How to change Day 7 for the weather

Rain: Skip Haeundae and travel directly to the airport or station after collecting luggage.

Heat or cold: Only take a short coast visit in comfortable conditions; otherwise have breakfast near your hotel and leave early.

Weather warning: Check flight or rail status and leave a larger transfer buffer. Do not add any sightseeing before a weather-affected departure.

Check the official forecast ↗ and the attraction’s hours before changing your booking.

Nearby to see & do

Choose only what fits your route and time. Check opening hours and the journey before going.

If plans change: Early flight or train? Skip the coast and leave directly. If your international flight departs Seoul, reserve a separate return travel window; adding a night is safer than treating Busan sightseeing and Seoul departure as one normal day.

Book in the right order

  1. Confirm your airports. This plan assumes you arrive through Seoul and leave from Busan. A Seoul return flight needs extra travel time on the last day or an additional night.
  2. Reserve both intercity journeys. Compare the correct stations or bus terminals, or confirm rental pickup and return before choosing hotels.
  3. Choose three hotel bases. Seoul: Jongno or Myeongdong. Gyeongju: historic centre. Busan: Busan Station or Nampo for this west-first sequence.
  4. Check attractions for your weekdays. Gyeongbokgung normally closes on Tuesdays. Verify the day’s Bulguksa and Wolji access and your last train/flight before committing to optional stops.
  5. Save Korean place names and tickets offline. Recheck bus stops, walking directions and weather the evening before each move.
