The main street is easiest to understand at blue hour, when shops glow but the lane is still legible.

NO-GUESSWORK WALK

Follow one route, then explore

  1. 1

    Anguk Station Exit 1

Start here rather than searching only for “Bukchon.” Save the exit pin before leaving the station.

  2. 2

    Jeongdok Library

Walk north past the stone wall and use the library grounds as a calm orientation stop.

  3. 3

    Samcheong-ro

Continue along the main street, then enter only signed public lanes; homes behind many doors are private.

  4. 4

Finish at Samcheong Park or Gyeongbokgung

Choose the park for more walking, or turn west toward the palace and a simpler metro return.

FOUR DISTINCT VIEWS

What the place really looks like

The hero and gallery use four different photographs. Every image opens at 3:2 in a larger view and includes its original source and reuse licence.

FOOD & BREAKS

Pause without losing the route

Sujebi, dumplings and cafés are clustered along Samcheong-ro. Check the current menu and queue before committing; narrow residential lanes are not dining streets.

RESPECT & RETURN

Before you go

Keep voices low around hanok homes, do not photograph through windows or doorways, and avoid rolling luggage on steep lanes. Sunset is attractive, but choose your return station before dark.
