Hangang Parks

Choose the Hangang park that fits your day instead of treating the river as one destination: Yeouido for broad lawns and spring flowers, Ttukseom for recreation, Mangwon for a local picnic, Banpo for night views, and Ichon for a quieter skyline. This guide shows six distinct river moods and the practical differences between them.

Location & map stops

One river, eleven very different parks

Start by choosing the park—not merely searching “Han River.” **Yeouido** has the easiest broad lawns and festival scale; **Ttukseom** combines water views with recreation; **Mangwon** pairs well with the market; **Banpo** is the night-view choice; **Ichon** offers open views from the north bank. Save the exact park entrance and return station before setting out.

What to see & do

Pick a photographic mood

- **Morning:** quiet paths and clean skyline views at Ichon or Mangwon.
- **Afternoon:** lawns, cycling and picnics at Yeouido or Ttukseom.
- **Blue hour:** Banpo bridges and city reflections.
- **Seasonal:** Yeouido spring flowers and separately announced fireworks or festivals.

Large events, fountains and flower displays are seasonal—not daily guarantees. Verify the official event notice before building a trip around one.

Travel from Seoul

Do not navigate to the river in general

1. Choose the named park first.
2. Search its Korean name in Naver Map: **여의도한강공원, 뚝섬한강공원, 망원한강공원, 반포한강공원, 이촌한강공원**.
3. Select the exact subway exit or bus stop shown for your chosen entrance.
4. Save the return station; bridges, expressways and ramps can make a nearby map pin surprisingly difficult to reach on foot.

For food delivery and the Korean phrase to send your pin, use the Han River delivery guide.

Where to stay

Choose a practical base

Look for accommodation in or around Seoul riverside. Compare its distance to the arrival station or terminal and your first sightseeing stop. A rural attraction may be easier to visit from a town base with an arranged transfer.

For a hanok stay, ask about bed or floor bedding, private bathrooms, steps, check-in and luggage storage. For a hotel, compare access to the local transport you plan to use.

Regional food

Picnic without delivery confusion

Buy food near the station when you want the simplest option. For delivery, use a designated delivery zone and share that exact pin rather than only the park name. Keep the courier’s call or chat open, carry a rubbish bag and sort waste at the marked collection point. Step-by-step delivery guide

Build your visit

A reliable two-hour river break

Arrive before sunset, walk one signed section, choose a fixed picnic or viewpoint spot, then return by the station you saved. Do not try to cross the river and visit several parks in one short evening; they are separated by long approaches and bridge access.

Before you go

Weather changes the river first

After heavy rain, high water or official closure notices can affect lower paths. Never cross barriers. Summer heat, exposed wind and winter ice make the waterfront feel more extreme than nearby streets. Fountain, bicycle hire, cruise, watersport and event schedules are separate services; check each operator or official notice. Information reviewed 20 September 2026.
