Hwadam’s pond and green garden

The pond is a useful pause along a garden walk. Keep your timed-entry and return plans in mind; a photograph of the green season does not describe autumn ticket availability or peak foliage.

Destination

Start from the official site’s NOL booking link; an account is required. Choose your dated entry; monorail tickets are separate. The guide lists adults ₩11,000, 09:00–18:00 with a 17:00 cutoff and Monday closure, subject to seasonal notices. Keep your original mobile ticket rather than a resale screenshot. Allow time to walk even when reserving a monorail segment.

Transport

Use the Gyeonggang Line to Gonjiam station, then a taxi or the operator-listed Gwangju bus 9; verify current departures. The station is not within the garden. By car follow Gonjiam Resort/Hwadam signs and staff parking directions. Build in the walk from parking before your ticket time.

Stay

Compare Gonjiam Resort for a nearby overnight with accommodation around Gonjiam station for rail access. A resort room does not automatically include garden or monorail tickets: verify the exact package, cancellation and transfer.

Local food

The operator lists Beonji-eomneun Jumak beside Wonang Pond for dishes such as seafood pancake and tofu kimchi, plus cafés near the entrance. Check the day’s menu and queue. Outside food is prohibited; eat before entry or use a listed on-site option.

A workable visit plan

Confirmed entry and optional monorail → station/resort transfer → selected garden route → meal → return. In autumn secure entry before arranging travel; never assume a walk-up ticket or a particular date’s peak colour.

Suggested visit times are our planning allowances, not measured transfer times. Reserve the return connection first; current room prices, menus and local departures need a check for your travel date.
