Wando: coast & island choices
Choose a road-accessible Wando coastal day, or a separate ferry day on Cheongsando. A bridge-linked beach and a ferry island need different plans.
From Seoul, allow two nights if adding Cheongsando; keep a mainland day as the bad-weather alternative.

From Seoul: check the whole connection
Compare a coach towards Wando with rail to Mokpo or Gwangju-Songjeong and an onward coach. Save your accommodation and the exact passenger terminal. Check the last road connection as well as the last ferry.
A realistic local plan
Walking times below are our planning suggestions, not an operator timetable. Check the day’s weather, opening and return connections.
Mainland plan: harbour & tower
Our suggestion: start with a harbour-area meal and allow 1–2 hours for the tower park/viewing area if open. Confirm the uphill approach or transport option for your mobility. Admission to a tower interior and any ride are separate from a public walk.
Optional road extension: Shinji beach
Shinji Myeongsasimni is a separate road trip over the bridge. In autumn or winter, plan a coastal walk, not guaranteed swimming or summer facilities. Check wind and the return ride before leaving Wando town.
Separate ferry day: Cheongsando
Before booking, confirm Wando–Cheongsando sailings, identification requirements, walking versus vehicle tickets and the return sailing. Choose one short signed Slow Walk section, with lunch and boarding margin. Spring flower photographs do not describe October conditions.
Opening, tickets & practical checks
Check Wando Tower admission and individual beach facilities separately. Ferry departure, boarding cut-off and cancellations depend on the operator and date.

Food & where to stay
Compare cooked abalone, fish or other seafood on current menus. Check whether prices are by person, plate or weight, and confirm preparation charges. Raw seafood is optional; ask for a cooked dish if preferred.
Weather & the return journey
If ferries are cancelled, use a Wando-town or road-coast day and follow the operator’s rebooking instructions. Do not create a tight connection between the final ferry and an onward train.
