Inje Wondae-ri Birch Forest
Make the forest the main activity of the day. Reaching the white-birch groves requires an uphill walking approach; the visitor parking area is not the famous tree-lined scene.

Arrival & final connections
Compare coach services to Inje and then arrange a taxi or a confirmed tour transfer to the visitor entrance. Send the driver “인제읍 자작나무숲길 760” and agree pickup time and price before leaving the vehicle. Keep your bags at the accommodation or a confirmed storage point; avoid taking wheeled luggage onto the trail.

Compare coaches to Inje from your Seoul departure terminal. Buy a return that allows the forest approach walk, not only time among the birch trees.
Final transfer & return
Give the driver 인제읍 자작나무숲길 760. Agree a return pickup and contact method before walking uphill; a taxi may not be waiting when you return.
Rental pickup & return
Reserve a named depot near your arrival gateway. Confirm its street address, opening hours, licence requirements, winter equipment and the exact return depot with the operator before paying. Allow time for refuelling, vehicle inspection and any depot shuttle before your return train or flight. One-way returns need explicit agreement.
Parking & the walking approach
Park at the visitor entrance and walk the permitted approach; the birch grove is not a roadside stop. Check closure and entry cutoff before driving out.

Day-by-day route
- Morning — Arrive near opening time, confirm which approach is open and the latest return guidance at the visitor desk. Use the permitted route to reach the birch grove. Tourism descriptions suggest roughly an hour or longer for the approach, but winter footing and pace can extend that; allow a substantial return buffer.
- Midday — Walk the open grove paths and take photographs without leaving the route. Carry a warm drink, food and suitable footwear with traction for the conditions. Treat snow and white trunks as a seasonal scene rather than a guaranteed photography product.
- Afternoon — Descend well before closing and meet your arranged driver. Keep the onward coach separate from the visitor entrance’s last-ascent time. If your Seoul connection leaves little margin, stay in Inje and return the following morning instead of shortening the descent buffer.

Planning allowance
KRW 90,000–160,000 per adult / day: an editorial planning allowance for a shared twin room, meals and ordinary local travel. This is not a surveyed average or a package price.
Exclude flights, intercity rail, attraction tickets, festival admission, ski passes, lessons, clothing, equipment and dedicated taxis or private transfers. A solo room, weekend stay or extensive taxi use can exceed the range. Obtain separate quotes for these extras before booking.
Currency converterWeather & backup plan
KTO’s winter listing, reviewed 1 October 2026, gives November–February hours of 09:00–17:00 with last ascent at 14:00, and usual Monday/Tuesday closures, except public holidays. Severe weather can override that listing. Confirm access before travelling and do not book a non-refundable forest-only transfer until the day’s status is clear. If closed, keep a town meal or return plan.
Sources & booking checks
Before paying, confirm your dates, cancellation conditions, foreign-card payment, the last return service and any included transfer or equipment. If a 2027 festival or winter service is not confirmed, book the base route without it.
