Suncheon Bay & Yeosu
Visit the wetland for wintering birds, then continue to Yeosu for coast walks and night views. Treat December as a wetland-and-sea trip; add a camellia emphasis only when flowering is reported.

Arrival & final connections
Compare rail to Suncheon with rail to Yeosu EXPO for an open-ended trip: arrive at one and return from the other. Neither station is the attraction entrance. Secure the Suncheon Station-to-wetland bus or taxi and the Suncheon-to-Yeosu transfer separately. Suncheon Bay National Garden and the wetland are different sites; choose the wetland first for this winter route.

Coach & local bus
Wetland access is a local bus/taxi trip from Suncheon. The National Garden and Suncheon Bay Wetland are different sites with different stops.
Final transfer & return
Finish the wetland before travelling to Yeosu. At the coast, group Odongdo and the EXPO area; Bongsan’s crab restaurants need a separate ride.
Rental pickup & return
Reserve a named depot near your arrival gateway. Confirm its street address, opening hours, licence requirements, winter equipment and the exact return depot with the operator before paying. Allow time for refuelling, vehicle inspection and any depot shuttle before your return train or flight. One-way returns need explicit agreement.
Parking & the walking approach
Navigate to Suncheon Bay Wetland parking, not the National Garden. For Odongdo, use the mainland public car park and walk onward.

Day-by-day route
- Day 1 — Arrive at Suncheon, leave luggage and visit the wetland during its permitted winter hours. Start with the reed-boardwalk area; the observatory climb is optional. Confirm the latest entry, exit and return pickup before planning a sunset visit. Birds are wild and sightings are never guaranteed.
- Day 2 — Transfer to Yeosu, check in or leave luggage, then walk Odongdo and the harbour area. Camellias may begin in January and often peak around March, so do not advertise a December flower spectacle. Choose one night-view area rather than a long sequence of distant stops.
- Day 3 — Choose a short coast or market visit, then return from Yeosu EXPO. Add Hyangiram only with enough transfer time and an agreed return: it is a separate outing, not beside the station. Keep the final morning light if your train is early.

Where to stay & eat
Stay in Suncheon for the wetland day, then around Yeosu EXPO or the harbour for the coast day. Compare changing hotels with the extra return travel if using one base. For cockle meals and seafood, ask about shellfish, raw ingredients and minimum portions before ordering.

Choose a specific restaurant after comparing menus. Soy-marinated crab is uncooked and contains crustaceans; ask for cooked alternatives and exact refill rules.
Planning allowance
KRW 90,000–160,000 per adult / day: an editorial planning allowance for a shared twin room, meals and ordinary local travel. This is not a surveyed average or a package price.
Exclude flights, intercity rail, attraction tickets, festival admission, ski passes, lessons, clothing, equipment and dedicated taxis or private transfers. A solo room, weekend stay or extensive taxi use can exceed the range. Obtain separate quotes for these extras before booking.
Currency converterWeather & backup plan
Wetland closures, bird-protection controls or strong wind can change the visit. Use only open public paths and keep distance from birds. If weather cancels a cable-car option, keep the harbour food and indoor plan. Save the return station name and do not rely on a sunset photo schedule to set your train time.
