Know the area
Start with one town or sightseeing cluster. Distances between attractions can be substantial; use the map and individual guides to choose a manageable route.
Top sights
Gwangneung · Royal tomb & autumn forest walk
A quiet half-day from Seoul. Choose the shorter royal-tomb visit, or add the seasonal Bokjagi maple trail if you are comfortable with slopes and steps. Forest: 1 October–29 November 2026 · Oct 09:00–17:00 / Nov 09:00–16:30. Normally closed Mondays; holiday exceptions and weather closures apply. Royal-tomb grounds open year-round on visiting days.
Ganghwa Island · History, Temples & Coast
Explore a former Goryeo capital, prehistoric dolmens and coastal defences near Seoul. Start with a history walk in Ganghwa-eup or a southern temple day; island distances need real bus or road-transfer planning.
Incheon
Discover a different side of Korea’s gateway city: Songdo’s waterfront skyline, Chinatown’s food streets and the wooded temples of Ganghwa. Choose a city day trip from Seoul or stay longer to explore the coast.
Gyeonggi
Explore the province around Seoul, from Suwon’s fortress and palace to Paju’s history, Gapyeong’s gardens and Yangpyeong’s riverside. Choose one area at a time for a rewarding day trip or a quieter overnight stay.
Hwadam Forest · Gwangju
Explore themed woodland gardens near Gonjiam, with moss, trees and seasonal colour. This is Gwangju in Gyeonggi, near Seoul, not the city of Gwangju in Jeolla.
Herb Island
Herb gardens and illuminated evening displays in a ticketed visitor attraction. Choose a daytime garden visit or a later light-show walk.
Nari Farm · Yangju
Seasonal flower fields rather than a permanently open, year-round flower display. Check the current opening period before a subway day trip.
Imjingang Kochia Garden
The county announces the 2026 opening on 19 September.
Jaraseom · Autumn Flower Festa
The 2026 autumn Flower Festa runs 12 September–5 October in Jaraseom’s garden area.
Incheon Open Port, Chinatown & Fairy Tale Village
Trace the old port district through historic streets and the food lanes of Chinatown. Add Songwol-dong for a different, colourful walking stop.
Gyodongdo Island
Explore a quieter side of the Incheon region on Gyodongdo. Pair the island’s market streets with a garden or countryside stop.
Songdo Central Park
Walk beside the waterways of modern Songdo. The park offers an open-air contrast to the high-rise streets around it.
Garden of Morning Calm
Build a garden day around paths, planting displays and quiet places to pause. The experience changes with the season.
Seoul Grand Park, Seoulland & Gwacheon Museums
Choose a family outing, an art visit or a science stop in Gwacheon. The attractions share an area but each can fill a substantial part of a day.
Gwangmyeong Cave
Explore an underground attraction in Gwangmyeong as a change from open-air sightseeing. Plan the cave visit around your transport connection.
Suwon Hwaseong Fortress
Follow fortress walls and gates through Suwon. A shorter wall section can be combined with palace-area streets and a local meal.
Dumulmeori
Take a riverside break in Yangpyeong at the meeting of waterways. The open scenery rewards a slower walk and time to sit.
Korean Folk Village
Walk through a large open-air village of regional houses, workshops and performance spaces in Yongin. Use the day’s programme to choose your arrival time, then explore the quieter lanes between shows.
Everland & Caribbean Bay
Plan a dedicated leisure day in Yongin around theme-park rides or water attractions. Choose the experience that fits your group and season.
Imjingak & Paju DMZ
Learn about the divided peninsula through the Imjingak area and, when available, a separately arranged DMZ visit.
Heyri Art Valley
Browse an arts-focused neighbourhood of galleries, studios and cafés. Choose individual venues rather than expecting one single attraction entrance.
Jebudo Island & Marine Cable Car
Plan a west-coast day around Jebudo’s shore and the cable-car crossing. The changing tide is part of the experience.
